Best exercise for delt development

Have you ever seen someone with boulders for shoulders? Well if you are striving to place yourself in that category, I have an great exercise for you.

That exercise is called an Arnold press. In order to do an Arnold press you must hold a pair of dumbbells in front of your shoulders with your palms facing your body (it should look like the end position of a bicep curl). In one fluid motion, open your arms and extend them overhead as you exhale. Pause, then reverse the move and inhale.

I must state , in my experience everyone has preferences on what is considered a comfortable range of motion. I have discovered that some people find this move difficult to the point that it hurts there shoulders. So if you have never done this exercise before , start with a light weight and go through the range of motion a couple times to see how it feels on your joints.

In conclusion  the Arnold Press is a great move for hitting the growing all-around developed shoulder because the range of motion actually targets the front, side and rear delts. But ,as its generally done, it does place your your joints in the shoulder at a slight risk for injury. You’re rotating into internal rotation as you press up, a combination that can potentially limit the joint space between humerus and clavicle. So my motto is that everyone is different try it out and if it does not cause any pain when going through the motion, you should be good as long as you stick with proper or “reasonable” form. Alright, until next time , stay fit.

  1. Muchas gracias, me funciono perfectamente, es importante que la fecha sea anterior al lanzamiento de una nueva version, es decir yo tuve que poner una fecha de 2015 porque quiera instalar OS X El Capitan. Britta Benjamin MacCarthy

  2. My brother suggested I might like this website. He was entirely right. This post actually made my day. You can not imagine just how much time I had spent for this information! Thanks! Amalia Boot Zalucki
